Water Mirror Pavilion Restaurant

The building is surrounded by water on two sides, creating a sense of floating. The overall structure follows a strict metric system, and the large sculpture at the entrance conforms to the same proportion. The original building consisted of two separate parts, connected by a third part that served as the entrance. After the exhibition, it was demolished and replaced by a structure of a temporary nature, whose roof was supported by a metal framework clad in zinc. The current renovation aims to restore the building to its appearance before the major changes, specifically as it was at the close of the 1940 exhibition. The renovation has removed visually polluted elements; a non‑original structure on the south side has been demolished, and the overall framework of the building has been restored. A large skylight at the centre of the space alludes to the terrace that once separated the original main structures. To the north, the building houses a more casual space, where the staircase leading to the first‑floor offices can also be seen. To the west, in the main entrance area, an open space is used as an art gallery and music space. The interior fully reveals the structure, allowing visitors to see the different zones that compose the building. The finishes are minimal, and linear lighting outlines the dramatic interior space.
